Ross E. Hutchins
Born and raised in the Montana Rockies, Dr. Ross Hutchins came to Mississippi State University as a graduate student in 1931 and later became Professor of Entomology and Zoology. His renown photographs of insects and other natural history subjects were published in many magazines, including Natural History,National Geographic Magazine, and Life. He is the author of numerous magazine articles and more than 40 books for a wide audience. In addition to Travels of Monarch X, other books include Insects , The World of Dragonflies and Damselflies, Hidden Valley of the Smokies, Insects in Armor, Grasshoppers and Their Kin, The Ant Realm, Galls and Gall Insects, Island to Adventure, and his autobiography, Trails to Nature's Mysteries, the Life of a Working Naturalist. |
